Ever since their joint venture five years ago, Danish furniture makers Republic of Fritz Hansen and MINI have come up with innovative and exciting designs. Showcasing at the Blickfang design exhibition in Copenhagen on Nov 15th and 16th 2014, they present a modern version to the Classic Drop chair with the iconic MINI look. This seat was designed for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen just a year before the Mini swept over the automotive scene. Today it is known as the most celebrated piece of iconic furniture design.
The designers at MINI had to meet the rigorous design standards and textiles of the Mini and recreate them into a comfortable and functional piece of furniture. The Classic Drop chair is made from premium fulled nappa leather features and detailing that immediately brings to mind the seats of the classic MINI. Its Pepper White legs is one of the most popular body work colours for the car. The elegant colour combination of the blue and ochre leather and the diamond design make it a striking style statement.
