Spanish artisan Maximo Riera pays a stunning tribute to the wide range of living species Mother Nature has produced. The eclectic “Animal Chair Collection” entails pieces inspired by an octopus, a rhino, an elephant and a hippo amongst others. Each specially curated piece is made-to-order and manufactured with the finest materials. To accomplish the most precise and premium result, the most advanced techniques are used, including 3D modelling software and cutting edge engineering.
Over the years, the Spanish maestro has been famed with creating pieces inspired by insects and the spectacular animal kingdom, namely the Beetle Chair and the Hippopotamus Sofa. But if we’re being honest, our personal favourite was the Toad Sofa.
It’s all in the detailing! Each piece takes almost nine to eleven weeks to produce!
‘This collection gives us an option of admiring what nature is capable of; this is the main reason why from the beginning I wanted to be faithful to the animal’s physique. this series is an homage to these animals and the whole animal kingdom which inhabits our planet, as an attempt to reflect and capture the beauty of nature in each living thing.’ says Maximo Riera.
Can you believe it? Each piece entails almost 480 hours of work.
The collection is crafted with highly dense polyurethane, which is of the finest quality. It is as consistent and resilient as solid wood.
A metallic frame reinforces the well-embodied structure of each chair.
Entailing realistic animal shapes, the collection pays tribute to living creatures.
Advanced 3D modelling software’s and cutting edge engineering is used to craft the pieces.
