Since afternoon tea is a great deal with the British, the luxury hotel has chosen to spike its afternoon beverage with 24 karats edible gold. The 24 Karat Gold Afternoon Tea will include half a bottle of one of the world’s most prestigious and rare sparkling wines – the Luxor Pure Gold 24K Brut Champagne that includes 24-karat gold flakes.
It’s inspired by this champagne that Executive Chef Vikas Milhoutra of 51 Buckingham Gate created the adjoining delicacies. This includes a Gold Leaf Jelly, White Chocolate Delight with Gold Leaf, and Strawberry Tart with Gold Flakes and is accompanied by a selection of scones and delicate finger sandwiches.
