Cafe Royal launches Londons first dessert restaurant


The Café at the Café Royal London on Regent Street will have a new sweet surprise with its first dessert restaurant opening on March 3. With a menu designed by Executive Pastry Chef, Sarah Barber, the dessert restaurant will bring a selection of exquisite tasting menus, all served with optional wine pairing and will be available from 6pm to 10.30pm daily.

Dessert time will never be the same again as each menu will include a range of savory bites to prepare the palate, before offering a variety of sweet plates – each highlighting Sarah’s creativity, imagination, as well as her contemporary, playful style.

The Sarah in Wonderland menu will feature five courses, starting with savories such as the Milky Way, with goat’s cheese, wild honey and beetroot snow; and Chicken Foie with quince and brioche. This will be followed by a journey of Sarah’s Alice in Wonderland inspired desserts that inlcudes Queen of Hearts (raspberries, Champagne and roses); Mad Hatter (BFG, kirsch and cherries) and Eat Me, Drink Me (Snickers, chocolate malt shake).

There will also be a three-course Childhood Memories menu that will take you on a nostalgic trip with favorites such as Rhubarb & Custard and Jaffa Cakes. A Pick n Mix menu will also be available where guests can make their selection of four dishes, with savories such as White Rabbit with Acapella cheese, artichokes and black truffle; and Salmon Tart with silky avocado while desserts on the Pick n Mix menu will include the Jaffa Cake; Eat Me, Drink Me and Queen of Hearts.

Wine will be served to accompany each menu. This includes sparkling Prosecco di Valdobbiadene with the Milky Way; Henriques y Henriques madeira with the Jaffa Cake; and classic dessert wines such as Château Roumieu, Sauternes with the Eat Me, Drink Me.

The Dessert restaurant will run alongside the launch of Sarah’s new day food and drink menus in The Café. Don’t skip the Pâtisserie where customers can delight in some petit gâteau such as Pistachio & apricot mille feuille; Strawberry lemon candy cane; Raspberry rose sphere; and large entrements such as Strawberry crispy mousse with almond sponge and lemon curd and Black Forest gâteau with chocolate mushrooms.

The tasting menus price starts from £26 ($37) per person.
