China to experience a Ritz-Carlton style luxury boom


If only trees would grow as fast as sky scrapers and luxury hotels, but I guess we would have to settle for hotels now. Marriott International Inc is all set to double its Ritz-Carlton presence in China by 2015, to make it the numero uno luxury hotel in the country. Apart from the sic existing hotels in China, there are plans to up the number to eight by end of 2010, and further plans include one in Chengdu by 2012. As per Reuters reports, the Marriott-brand hotels will see a total of 15 hotels in China within the next five years, including the two top cities of China- Tianjin and Hangzhou.

The other places interest for the chain of hotels include, Bangkok, Sydney and Taipei.
