Guests staying at The Peninsula Paris now have the opportunity to explore and discover the history behind the magnificent Palace of Versailles, as part of one of their Peninsula Paris’ Academy program. The bespoke programs have been created to give its guests a unique access to the history, culture and local lifestyle experiences in each Peninsula destination.
Versailles is home to one of the world’s most famous and opulent palaces and the Palace of Versailles was once home to the French government, during the reigns of Louis XIV, Louis XV and Louis XVI from 1682 until 1789 and was converted to a museum in the mid-19th Century.
Guests at The Peninsula Paris can get a taste of this history in true Peninsula style as they arrive in a Rolls Royce at the Palace, situated 16 kilometers southwest of Paris. They will then be escorted through the grand estate for a private, behind-the-scenes tour, including areas that are normally closed to the public like the former living quarters of King Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette.
To finish off, the guests will be treated to a gourmet Peninsula picnic arranged by our Executive Chef, Jean-Edern Hurstel on the vast gardens of the Versailles Palace or return to the hotel – ideally during the winter months and enjoy a dinner fit for a King or Queen in their Suite or in one the private salons.
The half-day program (available from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00am to 5:30pm) will set you back by €4,452 ($4,969) for two people for a maximum of four persons per group.
