In a first the Hyatt Regency Hong Kong offers a free smartphone to its guests during their stay

Complimentary chocolates, toiletries and wine are a passé, Hyatt Regency Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong last month installed smartphones in all 381 of their rooms to enhance travel experience for their guests. The smartphone offers hotel guests unlimited local and international calls to USA, United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore and China. It comes with unlimited 3G mobile Internet access, interactive maps, and Hong Kong city guide. The phone offers plenty of information such as emergency numbers, transportation options, shops listing, sponsored restaurants as well as about the city’s smoking ban. Facebook, Instagram, Skype and other social media sites are pre-installed in the phone.

There is a ‘clear data’ button that will erase all your personal information from the phone upon your check out from the hotel. And if you fall in love with the Alcatel Idol X smartphone, you can even buy it from the hotel for $250.
