InterContinental London Park Lane pops one of the world’s most expensive bottles of port

These days, launches are a big thing – brands are always keeping afloat with their sharpest and most creative ideas to stay ahead in the spotlight. The InterContinental London Park Lane is an example, who will ‘crack open’ one of the world’s most expensive bottles of port to celebrate the opening of the InterContinental Porto-Palacio das Cardosas in Portugal on 14 July. The rare Taylor’s Scion 1855 vintage port, priced at about $4,000, will be served for $160 a glass. Guests at the hotel visiting The Arch Bar will get the chance to enjoy this exclusive treat.

What makes the opening special is that the hotel will be the first international luxury organization in Porto’s city center – a tourist’s haven. The hotel is a renovated palace, 250 years old, and has 105 bedrooms and 16 suites. It also has the Café Astoria and a fine dining restaurant offering traditional Portuguese fare.
