JW Marriott to open private island resort in Venice by 2015

Venice- the city of canals will soon be home to JW Marriott’s debut hotel in Italy. Set to open in March 2015 on Isola delle Rose (Rose Island), JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa will be created in collaboration with Italian architect firm Matteo Thun & Partners. The 266-room property has an exceptional lagoon location on its own island, with stunning views of St Mark’s Square and La Serenissima.

The 16-acre resort has numerous gardens and outdoor areas are landscaped spots for quiet contemplation, as well as fruit arbors, olive groves and cultivated plots to provide fresh ingredients for the property’s diverse food and drink offerings, including four restaurants and five bars and a cooking school and wine academy.
