Mandarin Oriental checks into South America with a hotel in Chile

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is expanding and this time with its first property in South America. They’ve entered into a contract with the Hotel Corporation of Chile (HCC) and will take over management of a 310-room hotel from August 2017. The hotel will operate as Hotel Santiago throughout the first phase of the renovation and in August 2018 we can expect to see the hotel rebranded as Mandarin Oriental, Santiago. Typical to Mandarin Oriental’s Asian heritage, the hotel will have renovated luxury guest rooms, public areas, and beautifully landscaped gardens.

Hotel Santiago is located in the heart of the city’s most important commerce and leisure district, Las Condes and is home to two luxury shopping malls, restaurants, museums, and theaters. The property comprises 310 guestrooms including 23 suites with commanding views of the city and the Andes. It has five restaurants and bars, banquet and meeting rooms, a spa and fitness center. Its 25,000-square meter grounds contain a large free-form outdoor pool and landscaped gardens that provide a resort-like feel for guests.
