Suite of the Week – Exclusive Suites at the Belmond Hotel Caruso

A former 11th century palace set on cliffs beside the Amalfi Coast; that’s the Belmond Hotel Caruso for you. If staying in a restored palace alone is not enough; there’s so much more. It lies nestled on a cliff edge high above tiered groves of lemons and olive vines offering spectacular views of the Amalfi coast. Besides, it is the perfect place from which to explore Ravello, Amalfi Coast and Positano.

To stay in a place like this spells luxury and relaxation and that is why we chose their Exclusive suites as our suite of the week. When the hotel itself is located on a cliff edge one can only imagine the commanding views its rooms offer. For a truly panorama experience, the Exclusive suites does just that for you. Measuring 914 sq. ft. it comes with one king size bed or two queen size beds. Infact one of the suites can be connected to a Deluxe suite to create a stunning two-bedroom suite that accommodates seven people.

The living areas in the Exclusive Suites are sumptuously furnished in tones of beige and gold and exudes a truly regal feeling. The bedrooms are large and offers unparalleled views of the Mediterranean Sea. The bathrooms feature a separate shower cubicle, round bathtub and beautifully appointed double vanity basins. Luxuriously done up in beige, gold and marble with that marvelous Amalfi coast view, this is a place you will never want to leave. We saved the best for the last – a private garden and a magnificent terrace furnished with deck chairs is the perfect place for you to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner.

If you ever do leave your room, there’s so much more to do within the hotel. Take a lap in their infinity pool which is a masterpiece in itself. As you relax and take in the vista of the coastline below, a concierge can bring you an iPod pre-loaded with your choice of music, a fresh fruit appetizer or an Evian vaporizer. There’s also a gym with a full range of cardio and weight machines. If exercising is not your thing, then spend the day by setting off on a complimentary wooden boat ride for an exciting trip around the beautiful coast. At the end of it all indulge in a spa to liberate your mind, body and soul.

Dining options are a plenty. You can savor the true flavors of Ravello here. The Belvedere restaurant is famed for its superb selection of fresh, local Mediterranean dishes and Chef Mimmo di Raffaele will take you on a tantalizing journey of discovery. You can dine in an elegant indoor dining room, an atmospheric outdoor terrace, or in the al fresco area close to the pool, surrounded by ancient rose bushes.
