Suite of the Week : The exotic themed-family suites at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore

We can’t think of any reason not to stay at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore if you have your little ones accompanying you! In addition to the unabashed luxury and palatial spaces, the five-star property is set amidst 15 acres of landscaped gardens, yet in close proximity to the hustle and bustle of downtown Singapore. After scouring through most hotels in Asia, this Shangri-La property is interestingly one of the few hotels that have customised a kid-friendly experience with their family-themed suites.

Given the novel concept in a modern-day metropolis, these suites are regularly sold out and therefore, we’d highly recommended opting for a weekday stay. The Shangri-La themed family suites are ideal for those paranoid parents given the foolproof rounded corners and lower sinks/toilets. Once we surpass the practical angle to the suite, the dream-themed beds and ambience have been carefully curated and designed to amuse your little ones.

Let’s explore the Safari suite. The entrance to the enchanting suite is an adorable lion-shaped mailbox outside the room, while the interiors are dotted with a lion-shaped carpet, wallpaper of animals in the background, a little camping table, books about camping and a connecting tunnel where children can walk or crawl from their area to their parents’ room.

A series of five suites have been added to the recently revamped ninth floor of the hotel. Visualise underwater themed suites and safari suites; all coupled with a centralised pantry and a Family Concierge. The Family Concierge is sort of your man Friday who assists you with milk bottle sterilisation and even borrowing a Stokke stroller.
