Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai booked by President Obama and his contingent

Preparations for the much-hyped visit of US President Barack Obama to India are in full swing. Among the many places on the itinerary for the President’s visit is a stay in India’s leading metro city and the birthplace of Bollywood, Mumbai. The hotel which will host the President during his visit to Mumbai will be none other than the Taj Mahal hotel, which has recently been renovated and re-opened after the gruesome terrorist attacks in 2008. To ensure maximum security during his stay at the hotel, the President has block-booked all of the hotel’s 570 rooms! But it’s not just security concerns that have caused this mass booking; reportedly, Obama’s contingent is huge. In Fact, an additional 300 rooms have been booked at other luxury hotels in Mumbai to house the US President’s contingent. According to a senior Indian security officer, “Two jumbo jets are coming along with Air Force One, which will be flanked by security jets. The President’s convoy has 45 cars.”

The President, who will be accompanied by his wife Michelle, can surely expect a grand welcome on his visit.
