The 2018 Cayenne – An SUV enthralling the racing breed within!

The long-time winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans; one of the oldest and most prestigious endurance test for the drivers and the top-notch car manufacturers, Porsche’s 911 has been the leap of faith for every Porsche fan!

The German automaker made a heart-throbbing stance by adding its first SUV, the Cayenne to its fleet in the year 2002. It received a facelift in 2009 and now, 15 years down the line, the third-gen 2018 Cayenne was recently launched at an event in Stuttgart- Zuffenhausen ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The SUV, even though, having received minimum tweaks on the outside-cosmetics; the extravagant interiors and features integrally make this car look like a beast with all the beauty! Let’s start up front… the air intake dam is guarded by a wide chunky grille. The Headlamps receive new design with an adjustable matrix design to avoid blinding the drivers arriving from the opposite direction. The bonnet is carved with twin lines running along its length with the Porsche logo embedded between them, giving the car an elegant stance. Moving upwards, the SUV has a straight roofline to add the sporty charm. And, at the back, the boot space in the 2018 Cayenne receives additional 100 litres as compared to the previous model, thereby hyping the total boot space to colossal 700 litres! The tail on the outside wears a strip of taillight running across the fifth door resembling with that of the Panamera. The diffusers have neat twin brackets in which the exhausts seat.

From the driver’s seat, the cockpit-styled cabin looks stupendous with all the buttons and features handy. The Dash design is borrowed from the recently face-lifted Panamera. The 12.3-inch Infotainment system, broad-shouldered leather seats, and slightly inclined central console amalgamate neatly for the driver, to experience a relaxed drive.

Even though weighing over 2 tonnes approximately, this machine propels from 0-100 kmph in mere seconds ranging between 6.2 and 5.2 seconds through the varied engine types of 3.0-litre turbocharged V6, and comparatively, the more powerful twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 that powers the Cayenne S. The 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 puts out a total power of 335bhp with a torque of 450Nm, while the twin turbo 2.9-litre V6 mill produces 434bhp and 550Nm with a top speed of 265 kmph approximately. These powerful mills are mated to an eight-speed Tiptronic S gearbox with All-wheel drive.
