November 2014 marks the beginning of Gaurav Gupta’s 10-year journey in the Indian fashion industry. To celebrate the decade long success, the internationally renowned designer has launched his first store in Mumbai.
The renowned couturier’s new store embarks a ‘Paradigm Shift’, which will imbibe elements of fantasy, flight and mythology in his garments, extends his signature style to his Mumbai flagship store.The space which housed designer Sabyasachi’s creations until last year has now been transformed in true GG style with Gothic-mythical interiors. Nearly a cave filled with couture, the store is anything but ordinary.
Fantasy has always remained the core of the stories that Gaurav narrates. His first store in Mumbai is a space that amalgamates fashion with magic realism and extreme fantasy. His stores have always been a strong representation of his vision for sculpted spaces and are born out of the duality of his collections for his pret and couture lines.
The Gaurav Gupta flagship store opens its doors on November 28, 2014 at 52-56, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his brand, Delhi Art Gallery will also welcome Gaurav’s Paradigm Shift, a special co-curated exhibit, from November 28 to December 2 (from 11 am to 7.30 pm, except Sunday) on art and fashion.
