European classics get a new flare at Luna, St Regis

While most of Mumbai fine dining eateries’ are engaged in conceptualizing out-of-the-box culinary concepts, Luna Gusta at St. Regis Mumbai is simply taking on the classics. Now, taking on the classics is undoubtedly an arduous task considering there are elements of comfort and old-world-charm associated with it, but under renowned chef Yogendra Adep, Luna Gusta is in for an enthralling menu. And, we can vouch for that! Well, for one the avocado toast is unlike the appetizer you relish at every corner diner and is rather embedded with cream cheese and the rare truffle.

In addition to the jaw-dropping views of Mumbai skyline from the 38th-floor restaurant, Luna Gusta’s interiors are something to talk about! While the modern chandeliers grace the ceilings, eclectic yellow and blue chairs surround the lavish tables. The plush Upper and Lower Deck seating entails a classy ambiance and assures a lovely fine-dining experience to our food connoisseurs.

Crafted and curated by Chef Yogen, the menu incorporates elements of style and philosophy that while being inherently simple, magically integrates sensorial visual presentations with enticing classic flavors and transportive tastes with luxurious gourmet ingredients.

The new menu entails an eclectic mix of dishes ranging from Morels and Asparagus Risotto, Burrata Tortellini with Shaved Asparagus & Truffle Froth to Artichoke Paella, Mac & Cheese Bake and Chilly Rellenos.

Signature dishes created by Chef Yogen include the Bombay Benedict (inspired from the original dish; Jack Daniel Spare Ribs (Ribs are rubbed with the classic glaze sauce and spiced up with Smoked Poblano Chilies and roasted), Chicken Cordon Bleu (Prepared with a butterfly cut chicken breast, with a thin slice of ham inside, along with a slice of a soft Swiss cheese) and Chilean Sea Bass En Papillote (En papillote is a method of cooking in which the food is put into a folded pouch or parcel and then baked. The papillote is opened at the table to allow guests to smell the aroma when it opens) and Black Cod Aqua Pazza (need the technique we are using. We only have the historical one)

For dessert, a bespoke menu of ice-creams and desserts includes Blue Berry Ice Cream, Flaming Mud Cake, Ice Creams Tacos with varied flavors of Red Velvet & Cream cheese, Cream cheese and oreo, Tiramisu & Kahlua and Lemon curd & white chocolate. All time favorites such as Baked Alaska, Crepes Suzette, Classic Crème Brulee and Brioche and Butter Pudding make an eagerly awaited comeback!

If you happen to visit Luna for cocktails, you can select from their delicious infusion themed cocktails, straight beverages with mixes or an extensive wine-list with Indian and international wines.

“Timeless cuisine that does not intimidate and yet offers pleasant surprises with each visit was a deep, underlying belief when I developed this menu for Luna”, says Chef Yogen.

Mr. Anuraag Bhatnagar, General Manager, The St. Regis Mumbai & Area General Manager, India at Marriott International Inc. says, “We are thrilled to present the Back to Classics dining experience at Luna in India’s very first St. Regis Hotel.
