F-TYPE SVR : Bookings Open for JLR’s Fastest Production Car

Jaguar Land Rover India Limited (JLRIL) today announced the commencement of bookings of Jaguar F-TYPE SVR – its fastest production car ever. Developed by JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) team, the car’s performance has been maximised by optimising most of its components inside-out.

At the heart, producing 570 hp of maximum power, the car receives a powerful 5-litre supercharged V8 engine and hits a peak torque of 700 Nm. Thrusting from 0-100 km/h in just 3.7 s the sheer-power machine climbs to a top speed of 322 km/h. The Jaguar F-TYPE SVR is available in Coupe and Convertible variants.

To complement high-performance, the car has shed some kilos off its chassis and from the interior components too. The two-door car’s cabin features SVR performance seats that are coupled with an option of cooling, thereby making the overall driving experience reminiscent. As an add-on, the lightweight Magnesium construction of the seats cuts down a chunky 8 kilos against the preceding models.

On the outside, the Titanium and Inconel exhaust system loses 16 kgs while enhancing the F-TYPE SVR’s grunt. Interestingly, the company also claims to have reduced by about 14 kgs more by using the Forged 20-inch alloy wheels. However, the shedding of weight might scare one to take-off with the car off the road. This is saved by the Pirelli P-Zero tyres that are 10 mm wider than standard F-Type tyres for increased grip and handling.

Speaking on the announcement, Rohit Suri, President & MD of JLRIL, said, “The new F-TYPE SVR is the first Jaguar car to have been developed by the Special Vehicle Operations. Be it design, performance or comfort; sports car enthusiasts will experience all these features when behind the wheel of the new F-TYPE SVR.”
