Dutch denim brand G-Star RAW, responsible for making rugged, raw, untreated denims a must-have fashion accessory the world over is all set to make its entry onto Indian shores. Started in 1989, the upmarket denim label is famous for its edgy, distinctively nonconformist style and has been donned by some of the most fashionable celebrities from around the globe. From Jay Z to Rita Ora to Heidi Klum and even Robert Pattinson, all have been seen sporting the revolutionary brand.
Genesis Luxury who brought international luxury brands such as Jimmy Choo, Bottega, Furla, Emporio Armani and Burberry to India is the group responsible for the brand’s foray into the country. The luxury label marketers are planning on launching a total of 30 G-Star RAW stores in India within the next five years beginning with one in Delhi NCR which is slated to open later this year.
Sanjay Kapoor, managing director of Genesis Luxury expressing his excitement over the partnership said, “G-star is a true pioneer in the denim industry. Their wide expertise, from distinct styles to superior fits, is something yet to be seen in the Indian market…we are very excited to launch their entrance.” A pair of jeans from G-Star RAW will be priced at upwards of Rs. 6000.
