Toyota’s Luxury vehicle arm has launched its flagship luxury Hybrid sedan in India soon after its Global Showcase at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show
Japanese carmaker Toyota’s luxury vehicle division – Lexus on 15th January launched its flagship luxury sedan LS 500h here in India at a starting price of Rs. 1.77 crore (ex-showroom, pan-India). The LS 500h will be available in three trims – the Luxury sitting at Rs. 1.77 crore, while the Ultra Luxury and Distinct are priced at Rs. 1.82 crore and Rs. 1.93 crore respectively.
The fifth generation LS 500h boasts a range of pristine features and luxury elements inside out! On the outside, the signature oversized spindle grille draws attention even of a newbie to cars, followed by the L-shaped LED DRLs placed underneath each of the headlamps and the 20-inch alloy wheels that integrally add to the car’s premium stance.
The cabin of the India-bound luxury sedan will witness a relaxed drive for its heated seats with massage function and 28-way adjustability configuration on the front. Music Aficionados will drool over the car’s delectable 2,400-watt, 23-speaker Mark Levinson surround system which will be standard.
Since it marks to being the first-in-its-segment hybrid luxury sedan launched in India, the LS 500h has more to offer than just luxury. Under the hood, the car is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine assisted with two electric motors that draw power from a powerful 310.8 kV Li-ion battery which in combination can rev the engine to put out a staggering 350 hp of maximum power. The engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
Interestingly, the company claims that the 5.2-metre long sedan can catapult from a standstill to 100 kmph in mere 5.4 seconds.
Recently showcased at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, the Lexus LS 500h will rival the likes of Jaguar XJ L, BMW 7 Series, Audi A8 L and the Mercedes Benz S-Class in India.
