There are royal, palatial Udaipur properties. And then there is Justa Sajjangarh, a property that breaks the clutter with clean lines that is minimal but with the right pops of color. And of course, a view that makes checking in here worth the while. A 40-minute drive from the airport, the property wins you over the moment you gaze at its scenic beauty which takes your breath away.
Our check-in was swift, punctuated with friendly smiles and a decadent drink. And the city stresses were drowned out! The property is spread over six levels, including the ground floor and the rooftop and has 63 rooms. The suites feature a living room with a couch and a dining table with two televisions and just as many bathrooms, one with a bathtub and a glass wall that offers views of Monsoon Palace.
From all the amenities that the property had to offer, my favourite was the alcoves in the rooms which made for a great place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. Among the most mesmerizing is the colorful and fun Rajasthan-themed upholstery by designer Deepika Govind. From the moment we checked in itself, we were spoilt silly.
A lip-smacking high-tea with perfectly-flavored savouries, cakes, macarons, tart (you name it and you’ll find it) awaited us at Sabor. The culinary expertise by Chef Surya and Chef Sumeet was such that literally every dish tantalizingly teased our taste-buds. We revealed in a gorgeous Rajasthani, Italian as well as a stunning Pan-Asian meal during my stay here. The restaurant has a dedicated pastry section too and clearly shines in the food department.
The property also has a spa, an inviting pool and lots of recreational activities around to keep one immersed. They organized a visit to the Monsoon Palace and Fateh Sagar Lake- one of the best experiences of our stay to have delved into the history and beauty of the place. We also dined at AIR- the ravishing rooftop bar and kitchen that whips up some mean pizzas, fragrant biryanis and sinful desserts apart from great drinks. Coupled with nice music, it gives one a picture-perfect, birds-eye-view of the city and a swish ambience.
Justa’s staff is attentive, cordial and the best I’ve interacted with. Just while we were leaving, the property prepared the most drool-worthy tiramisu that I’ve ever had because they gauged my love for it. I’ve stayed at many properties but I believe that I left my heart here at Justa: the heartland of the good life where the gracious staff is at your service to fulfill every whim, rooms with drop-dead-gorgeous views, big culinary winners bowl you over and where magic exists….
