Review: A taste of Starbucks India’s Christmas offerings

During the holidays, it is the memories from the past which help connect us across time and distance. Simple acts can spark a flicker of remembrance – like making snow angels, serving an old family recipe and hanging sentimental childhood ornaments. The senses can cue our memories too, like the smell of peppermint or fresh-baked gingerbread. That said, Starbucks stores are celebrating the spirit of yesteryear with a modern twist.

Being a coffee connoisseur and a Starbucks junkie, I set off to try Starbucks India’s festive offerings. These included sinful options like Snowball Dark Mocha, Toffee Nut Crunch Latte and The Red Hat Mocha. I found the Snowball Dark Mocha to be a perfect balance of rich espresso, indulgent dark mocha, and velvety steamed milk. It comes topped with whipped cream, a mocha drizzle and festive crunchy rice puffs that resemble a snowball. One sip of this textural delight and I was in “mocha” heaven.

I also liked the subtle caramel sweetness of the Starbucks Toffee Nut Crunch Latte that is topped with whipped cream and a sticky toffee crunch. But the best part is how the rich buttery toffee flavor and aroma of toasted nuts make the perfect partner for Starbucks espresso roast.

As for the Red Hat Mocha, it beautifully combines dark and signature chocolate topped with a red hat of whipped cream, strawberry drizzle and chocolate whip. Another favorite that I can’t get enough of! The staff also recommended me the Carrot Cake with Cream which is a magical mix of carrots and cream-cheese is another winner. The perfect, dreamy holiday dessert!

To say the least, the Christmas offerings by the brand didn’t fail to tantalize my tease-buds. The vibrant holiday cups coupled with a drizzle of indulgence ensure that the Starbucks experience is worth all the bucks spent. The Christmas season just got merrier!
