Review: Devouring divinely delicious Chinese fare at China Bistro

What is it that makes Chinese food so spectacularly popular? Probably, you’ll have to unearth its rave flavours for yourself and you’ll know! Lucky for us, we recently tried the new menu which was recently unveiled by China Bistro and we can say that if Chinese fare is done right, you will never want to try another cuisine. The restaurant has introduced intriguing fusions of different cuisines with a twist.

Green Tea Tiramisu

At the entrance of the restaurant, small terracotta statues of Chinese symbolism welcome you. The interiors are done in shades of off-white and emerald green Chinese lanterns coupled with terracotta warriors. We were told that the menu comprises dishes like Squid Ink, Tobiko(Caviar), Mascarpone Cheese, Chinese Pickled Mustard Leaf, Palm Heart, Matcha Powder, among others.

For our meal, we started off with Pak Choi And Shitake Dumpling which were both healthy and tasty in equal measure. Next up was the Chicken Basil Dumpling. The minced chicken dumplings when garnished with basil seed and crushed basil leaf is what heaven tastes like. We also loved the Barbecued Chicken Bao Pocket. The fluffy Chinese bread stuffed with crispy chicken in a barbecue sauce and edamame hummus lent the bao an addictively scrumptious flavour.

Grilled Tofu with Korean Dressing

For mains, the Hot Pot Hunan Chicken flavoured with ginger chili oil went beautifully with the Fried Rice and was a gratifyingly memorable main. However, our favourite aspect of the meal was the Darsaan Cheesecake. The crispy honey noodles on top of some indulgent cheesecake was so sinful and delicious that the thought of it still makes us drool with glee.

Overall, our meal at China Bistro was about being taken care of by gracious staff who left no stone unturned to ensure our meal was picture-perfect. While the décor of the restaurant itself sets the mood for a good Chinese meal, wait till you unravel the flavours of the ravishing food here which will keep you walking through the its doors over and over again…
