As I step into my luxury villa at U Tropicana Alibaug, I survey an opulent sight: open-sky bathrooms, a deck opening onto my private plunge pool, a party lawn, and a deck made with love for sunset lovers. I ponder over how I never thought that a place like Alibaug could cater to a luxury traveler’s whims until I checked in here.
Villa verdict
The resort is spread over 12 acres, located off Chondi Naka and is three kilometres from the Kihim Beach. I loved the spacious interiors which are laden in a 604sqm two storey villas with 4 bedrooms. Brownie points to the private gazebo bar which is perfect for some barbeque or private party. The villa is cushioned with everything from a docking station with speakers to a working desk and coffee/tea making facilities.
For the love of food
Post-check-in, I opted for an in-villa lunch with some Pav Bhaji and juice. And to my surprise, the service was quicker than I expected it to be. The perfectly-indulgent, butter-topped bhaji with a fair sprinkling of the green coriander was honestly the best I’ve had! This was just the tip of the gastronomic ice-berg when I tried the Kombi Vade and Butter Chicken, I was amazed at the property’s ability to whip up deliciousness in such a nuanced and effortless manner. To say I was in food heaven, won’t be far-fetched…
For the knotty issues
I also spent some time at the U-Sante Spa being doused in delicious scrubs, slathered in wraps and basking in a rejuvenating massage. To say the least, my body, mind, and spirit felt pampered in equal measure as my nimble-fingered therapist kneaded my muscles into mush. I recommend a Chocolate Wrap and a soft, put-you-off-to-sleep aromatherapy massage.
Things to do
There’s something for everyone: biking trails, poolside-breakfasts, and midnight barbecues. Residents can make use of the cycles offered by the property. There’s also an inviting lap pool at the main hotel. A fitness center and library only add to the awesomeness.
Final thoughts
I have to admit that the property clearly shines in the food and accommodation department. Room service is quick and attentive. I found my luxury villa to be an aesthetic delight that is cocooned with all the amenities that tick all the boxes for luxury travel. My stay here alternated between slipping in the silken bed and dipping in my very own private pool. So as I departed from this gorgeous backdrop, I made a mental note to make this hotel a part of my travel plan soon.
