German auto-making giant BMW has recently unveiled the 3 Series Shadow Edition, a special edition sedan in India, in both petrol and diesel options. Priced strategically, the Shadow Edition of the 320d Sport sits at a price tag of Rs 41.40 lakh, while the 330i M Sport is priced at Rs 47.30 lakh, ex-showroom (India).
The special edition is a limited-units offering from the German automaker and exhibits only cosmetic updates.
To talk about the features evinced by the Shadow Edition, the sedan flaunts a high-gloss black finish on the kidney grille, smoked head and tail lamps, black chrome exhaust tips, and 18-inch alloy wheels with distinct designs for petrol and diesel variants.
Inside the cabin, the dual-tone red and black seat upholstery is plush to sight and touch while the 10.5-inch digital instrument cluster, 8.7-inch infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and M Sport leather steering wheel with a variable sport steering system exclusive for the 330i, that instigate the sprinter within one.
Churning the same power as the standard models, the 320d Sport Shadow Edition has a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel mill that puts out 187 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque, while the special edition of the 330i M Sport is powered by a powerful 248 bhp producing 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine.
Equipped with an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard on both the models, the 330i can sprint from nought to 100 kmph in just 5.8 seconds while the 320d hits the century barrier in 7.2 seconds.
Though being only cosmetically updated, the black-silhouetted Shadow Edition models add a zing to the sporty aura of both the 330i M Sport and the 320d Sport.
