Vacheron Constantin and Tasveer Celebrate The Art Of Photography In India


The prestigious Swiss watches, Vacheron Constantin has teamed up with Tasveer, to promote the art of photography in India. The initiative that combines artistic values that guide both, watchmaking and photography illustrates and recalls the art, culture, heritage and architecture of India with an innovative vision.

This year, Vacheron Constantin and TASVEER promote the art of photography in India and celebrate “Season 8” of renowned photographers : Andreas Volwahsen, Karen Knorr, Michael Kenna, Jyoti Bhatt and a collection of rare photographs by Women in Indian Photography 1850s-1950s’. Brilliant works of the avant garde photographers and a collection of rare photographs by Women in Indian Photography 1850s-1950s’explore how photographers and curators look back at the history of art and reinterpret it for the 21st century. Tasveer will take you through a journey from the 13th century temples of Konark to staged juxtaposition of animals in old-glorious interiors giving photographs a classic yet contemporary emphasis. You can also witness the folk traditions and aesthetics of rural India in the work of Jyoti Bhatt; and the changing representation of Indian women in a special collection showcasing women from the colonial era to Bollywood.
