While some people are still getting the hang of Mobile Banking, HDFC has taken a leap with its new initiative- Watch Banking. In collaboration with Apple, the bank is launching an application, through which you can make easy transactions through your Apple Watch.
The first-of-it’s kind in India, the HDFC’s watch banking app will be synced with the installed app on your phone. Apart from viewing their account information, users will be able to complete ten different tasks on the app, including mobile and DTH recharge, locating the nearest HDFC Bank branch or ATM, and hot listing lost debit cards. Other functions, including the ability to pay their bills, will be added soon. Customers will have to create a customized Watch banking PIN on the mobile app to access the account on the Apple Watch. As a security feature, the user’s session gets automatically timed out if it is inactive for more than five minutes. Additionally user will have to type in a pass code on the Apple watch to log into the device.
At present, the bank has launched the watch application only for Apple Watches, but, going ahead, will also be extending this feature to watches made by Samsung and Motorola.
