This Week In Mumbai: Watch the award-winning Kaamiya; go on a ghazal-inspired journey and more

This week in Mumbai we are celebrating women (because we don’t need a special reason to celebrate our favourite gender). Men, get ready to pamper your women and ladies, get ready to have a blast! Attend a women-centric socially relevant play at Prithvi or break your man’s bank balance by going on a shopping spree at the uber exclusive annual Women Entrepreneurs’ Couture Exhibition. You can even head to the blueFROG for a dance-filled girl’s only night where international sensation Neuromotor will be performing (ladies enter free of course!) Also, don’t forget to give yourself a break from your daily cooking and treat your family to a divine Shravan-month inspired meal at the Renaissance. Don’t fret men, with the EPL kicking off this month; you could easily do with a few extra brownie points. Win-win we say!

kaamiyaKaamiya
Written by US-based Kamla K. Kapur, Kaamiya is a deeply insightful play about the role a woman plays in today’s obviously patriarchal society. Although the play is peppered with hilarious little anecdotes synonymous with a conventional Punjabi household, its main focus is still on the Indian woman and the inevitable struggle and isolation she is faced with when she tries to find herself. The play takes off from where Ibsen’s Nora (from A DOLL’S HOUSE) leaves. The relatable and well-performed Kaamiya is also a winner of the Sultan Padamsee Award.

Timing: 6:30pm and 9:30pm.
Pricing: Rs. 150.
