A $56,000 gold and diamond studded shawl offered to an Indian saint


Like Rome and Greece, India is a land of many gods, and many miracles. So, when a wish is fulfilled, you need to keep your end of the bargain up too, which is precisely what this devotee of Sai Baba, from Pune, India did. The anonymous devotee donated a diamond studded shawl to Sai Baba, at his Samadhi in Shirdi, India. The 2.5 meter-long shawl has been adorned with 1¼ kg of pure gold mesh and is encrusted with american diamonds. Created over a period of 3 months at Jaipur, India, the shawl is worth Rs 25.20 lakh ($56,000).

Placed on the Baba’s idol after the Madhyana Aarti, the shawl was later placed on Baba’s Samadhi. The devotee was later presented with a Marble Idol of Sai Baba by the Sai Sansthan Trust.
