A working model of a front shovel shoves up your savings too


If you grew up with Bob the Builder as your role model and want to do up your house in a similar theme, a beautiful 1/16 scale model of a Caterpillar 5230B front shovel made from wood from Rob Fisher’s Woodchuck & Co art studio is up for grabs. The 1.5ft x 2.1ft x 1.5ft artifact is made up of 4000 individual parts and took 3000 man hours to finish. The semi-functional replica comes with fully extendable cylinders, with working tracks roll, opening jaws and also houses a “hidden storage compartment”, which the maker states is “someplace to keep the key!” the model is priced at $39,500.
