BMW’s MINI is all set to break through waves with a new surfboard

MINIs are not just meant for cruising on the streets anymore as seen with the special edition Countryman; but after their recent big unveiling, MINIs will soon be seen gliding through high waters and waves via the new MINI surfboard. The board was created along with the surfboard experts, California’s Channel Island Surfboards. The idea of the collaboration was thought of to add class and uniqueness to the unconventional sport. Professional surfer Kalani Robb and exterior design head of the BMW group’s MINI brand Christopher Weil worked together on the design of the board, which has a bit more volume on the tail, a wider body outline and a low rocker to give it more agility and speed. “For a long time I’d been wanting to create a board that would give me as much fun on the water as my MINI does on the road,” said surfer pro Kalani, which makes this MINI surfboard kind of like a dream come true for him!

The board will officially be available for purchase in June 2015 at a starting price of $800 (€ 750). Surfers will be able to buy the board from a few select stores or through the Channel Island store online. This board comes out at the perfect time to catch some summer waves!
