Any Beetles memorabilia can get cash registers ringing, then things to do with music will be icing on the cake! Guitar makers Gretsch have come up with 60 limited edition replicas of George Harrison’s the Duo Jet guitar. Described by Harrison as his “first really decent guitar”, the guitar made it to the cover of his 1987 album Cloud Nine. Priced at $20,000, the guitar was owned for three years by Ivan Hayward who also possesses a copy of the I.O.U. slip Harrison presented him with as Harrison was short on cash to pay up. He picked up the guitar for £70 (approx. $210) when the asking price was £90 ($255). The detailed replica has all the nicks and dings in place, that’s to a CAT scan that was used to find out the body-chambering style of the semi-hollow guitar.
