Limited 150th anniversary edition gold putters for the Open Champions sold out

The 150th anniversary of anything has to be special: it not only depicts the tendency of maturity with age and time, but also shows the strong fan following and fellowship that the event, brand or person enjoys. So just before the Open Championship turns 150, St Andrews celebrated the 22 Open Champions that won on its home grounds, by engraving their names on the sole with the official St Andrews Links logo on the toe face of the putter. Only 25 pieces of these special edition gold putters were up for grabs, and these were sold out both from the St Andrews Links website and The Old Course Shop.

The putters were originally crafted in phosphorus bronze, the head, the shaft, collar and cap were then plated with gold. The single gold line leather grip was especially custom-made by Gripmaster (Australia). Along with the putters, the proud owners also received a Limited Edition Certificate signed by Alan McGregor, the Chief Executive of St Andrews Links Trust.
