Once a month Paris’s Champs-Élysées will be a pedestrian’s paradise

Paris’ most famous boulevard Champs-Élysées will soon become a pedestrian haven once a month. The street, which is home to several luxury stores is a tourist hotspot and is usually packed with traffic. But soon enough, the road will be closed to vehicles one day every month to allow pedestrians to explore its delights and lures on foot.

Cartier, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior and Chloé all have a spot on this exalted street and the tourist rush to spot them all has resulted in a street clogged with cars. The closing of Champs-Élysées once a month is part of an effort to make the city more green and pollution free. The wide avenue extends from Place de la Concorde square to the Arc de Triomphe and is definitely worthy of being toured on foot. Don’t forget to pack your Louboutin sneakers on your next trip to the city of love!
