Pikachu Illustrator card valued at $20,000 is world’s most expensive Pokémon card

If I didn’t have a little brother I really wouldn’t realize just how crazy the Pokémon craze is. As they say, you have to see it to believe it. While originally released as a pair of Game Boy games, Pokémon’s popularity led to a cartoon series, several feature-length films, and a collectible card game as well. Pokémon fans who have always fought and argued over the most expensive Pokémon card can finally end all their disputes. The most expensive Pokémon card in the world is the Pikachu Illustrator card! Valued at $20,000, this card is the most expensive in the world. What is more, only six such cards exist in the world. The cards were created for a contest run by CoroCoro magazine in which children were invited to design their own Pokémon cards. The six winners won the holofoil trophy cards, which have now become the most expensive Pokémon cards globally.
