Season 3 finale episode of the crime drama Rizzoli & Isles got us gripping our remote control firmly in anticipation of the new season. Stuffed with suspense and drama, a bit of romance between Jane and Agent Gabriel Dean lightens up the episode. As Jane and Maura set about to investigate arson and the death of a fire-fighter who died battling the blaze, they discover there is much more mystery to it. The episode spins and twists the viewer’s attention when a car tries to run Maura down which leads to her mother’s serious injury and also by introducing Maura’s estranged father back. Suspense builds up as Maura sets up the firefighter who caused the blazes.
As she gets him to follow her to the warehouse, the firefighter tries to kill Maura. And even though Jane and Frost are there for Maura’s security cover, Patty Doyle shoots the man first. Eventually Jane shoots Doyle which leads to a rift between Rizzoli and Isles.

Based on characters created by best-selling crime novelist Tess Gerritsen, RIZZOLI & ISLES stars Angie Harmon as Jane Rizzoli, a tough-as-nails Boston police detective, and Sasha Alexander as Maura Isles, a smart, impeccably dressed medical examiner from a privileged background. Despite being complete opposites, the two women share an offbeat chemistry and strong working relationship that has helped them bust some of Boston’s most notorious criminals.
