Lost and Found! The F-B-I officials have done their part of duty and recovered the stolen painting, “Children with a Cart”. The painting was to be a part of an exhibit featuring 135 paintings by Spanish masters. The 1778 painting by Spanish artist Francisco de Goya was stolen while en route from Ohio to the Guggenheim Museum in New York. It was taken from a truck during a stop in Pennsylvania almost two weeks ago. Officials say extensive press coverage of the theft helped them find the artwork and say it appears to be unharmed. But they’re not revealing details of the recovery, citing an ongoing investigation.
The insurer had offered a $50,000 US reward then for information leading to the recovering of the painting, which was insured for $1 million. Wonder who the lucky skunk is?
