Iconic Indian artworks to be auctioned at Sotheby’s South Asian Exhibition
Sotheby’s anticipated London auction of Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art will be held on 18th October, 2016; and to celebrate it, the auction house has brought in key Indian pieces to the country for an exclusive glimpse.
To be displayed at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel between 3rd and 4th September 2016, the exhibit will feature artworks by artists like Vasudeo S Gaitonde, Francis Newton Souza, JagdishSwaminathan, Maqbool Fida Husain, Ganesh Pyne, Jehangir Sabavala, and a few more.

Drawing inspiration from the fine fragrances that are part of the L’Atelier de Givenchy collection, renowned Hotel Café Royal, London has introduced 10 new botanical cocktails. Served at the hotel’s vibrant Green Bar, the cocktails are created to marry the world of scents and flavors, and celebrate Givenchy’s in-house perfumery by using the brand’s perfume notes and ingredients in these floral concoctions.
Created by bar manager Derren King, the cocktails range from fresh, floral, and summery concoctions, to headier, full-bodied cocktails, all complemented by a distinct selection of garnishes and glassware. Nothing new for the bar, as the watering hole is known for its class-apart contribution to molecular mixology; they carefully craft cocktails using botanical ingredients to celebrate the individual character of each gin listed on its menu.
To take the idea of tasting these floral fragrant notes further, the bar will also offer special Givenchy perfume buttons along with the cocktails.

The new capsule collection, created in Louvre, stands testimony to designer Christian Louboutin’s love for his birthplace. Celebrating his famous quote, ‘I am not French, I am Parisian – 1000%’, the collection, presented in calfskin and gleaming Specchio leather, includes shoes, handbags, and small leather goods for both men and women.
The Plan de Paris collection also features some of Louboutin’s iconic signature products like the Pigalle Follies 100, Décolleté 554 heels, and the reinvented version of the Paloma tote bag for women. Dior’s new Runway bag celebrates French Savoir Faire
Celebrating Parisian savoir-faire, the new rectangular Dior carrier is accessorised by the brand’s iconic four letter charms along with the signature carnage motif on its quilted versions.
The Runway bag, first spotted at Dior’s ready-to-wear autumn-winter ’16 show, earlier this year, complemented almost every piece presented on the ramp. Three versions of the Runway bag in ostrich skin, snakeskin, and quilted leather were created under the guidance of the in-house head designers. Some adorned with beaded tassels and sequins, and others embellished with 3D floral motifs, they add volume to Dior’s archetypical rectangular silhouette. Featuring both short and wide straps, the bag is versatile enough to be sported as a sling or as arm candy.
Dior’s craftsmanship celebrates traditional French techniques of bag making. From manually constructed handles to assembling the bag around the wooden form, the Runway bag is an artistic creation tweaked with modern-day elements.
