Unless you’re a true Scrooge, you will also be in the market for presents and giving gifts to those you love can be a remarkably fulfilling experience. Receiving them isn’t too bad either. The only problem is what are 2016’s best presents for the men who have everything?
It’s never an easy task to buy for anyone, let alone the man who has everything, so we’ve decided to compile a list of truly luxurious items that will surprise, delight and excite even the most discerning gentleman.
Whitehouse Cox Havana Newton Wallet – $265
Whitehouse Cox have been hand-crafting luxury leather goods in England since 1875. That’s a long time to perfect your art and the brand produce some of the finest leather goods available.
This is evidenced best in their latest series of Havana Newton Wallets which are both durable and seriously stylish; the perfect blend for the busy modern gentleman.
Still crafted in Whitehouse Cox’s English factory, each wallet passes through the hands of seven workers before it is completed. Due to this meticulous process the wallets boast an average lifespan of 9-10 years. That’s with daily use, too.
Aside from being durable and devilishly stylish, my favourite thing about the Havana Newton range is the fact it is created using English Bridle Leather.
Coats upon coats of wax are applied to the leather to give it a waxy exterior and with regular use this slowly rubs away, allowing each individual product to develop a completely unique aesthetic.
Macallan Rare Cask – $240
Macallan is one of the finest names in whisky. So, if he’s a whisky lover, a bottle of Macallan Rare Cask is the way to his heart. A complex whisky which delivers sensual notes of fruit and honey, discerning drinkers will notice oak, chocolate, ginger and cinnamon on the palate.
Hublot Big Bang Unico Sapphire All Black – $60670
From two British heritage brands to a modern Swiss watchmaker taking the industry by storm. There are few who will be unfamiliar with Hublot these days and that’s due in large part to daring creations such as their Big Bang Unico Sapphire All Black.
Part of the brand’s Big Bang collection, the Sapphire All Black has been referred to as being at once both ‘visible and invisible’ by Hublot Chairman, Jean Claude Biver.
Whilst this sounds like marketing jargon, it’s an interesting concept which refers to the fact that due to the timepiece’s all black exterior, the time display should technically be invisible.
Obviously, there would be no point in a watch which couldn’t tell the time but Hublot have used patterns, angles and textures to ensure the time is visible on the Unico Sapphire All Black. Have Hublot overcomplicated it or is this another genius invention?

Ormande Jayne’s Montabaco eau de parfum – $230
A fragrance that incorporates leather, suede, wood and tobacco leaf alongside the lighter more floral scents of jasmine, magnolia and rose, Ormande Jayne’s Montabaco eau de parfum is a complex aftershave championing a distinctly Latin American scent.
You can’t go too wrong gifting aftershave, it’s a staple everyman will appreciate. Especially when it’s this good.
Burberry Sandringham Trench Coat – $1383
Founded in 1856, Burberry has a long and illustrious history of creating fashion items of the highest calibre.
At it’s very inception, Burberry focused on crafting pieces for the great outdoors and whilst their range has grown immeasurably since, the brand still produce some of the finest outdoor attire.
One item that stands out, having gained iconic status, is the Burberry Trench Coat. The Sandringham is one of my personal favourites from the range and if you’re looking for a lightweight, breathable and stylish overcoat then it should be at the top of your list.
A beautiful addition to any gentleman’s wardrobe, even if he has a closet full of coats he’s still got room for a Sandringham Trench from Burberry.
