Wedding portraits of Prince Charles and Princess Diana by Warhol up for grabs

Andy Warhol is not only the most prolific artists of his times, but was also equally eccentric. Obsessed with beauties like Marilyn Monroe and Liz Taylor, Warhol’s paintings have been pursued by robbers with equal enthusiasm. And finally another major attraction comes on sale, this time from the London Art Gallery. Painted in 1982 with silkscreen ink on canvas are portraits of Diana Princess and Prince Charles, of Wales, which was created to celebrate their wedding. The portraits come with a £2 million price tag ($3.15 million). Sold to a private collector, these paintings have been sold since.
