World’s tallest Ferris Wheel coming up in China

If you were impressed with the Odaiba Ferris Wheel in Tokyo, then you may get blown away with what China is planning on to offer you. It has begun the construction work on the Great Wheel of China, a $99 million Ferris wheel that will soar over Beijing at an astonishing 680 feet when construction is complete in 2009. Each one of its 48 cars is like a gondola, air-conditioned and holding 40 passengers, for a total of 1920 excited people at a time. Had they not bickered so much, the construction would have been completed in time for the summer Olympics. No sweat, you can visit China again in 2009 just for the wheel!
