At 55 storeys the Maze Tower skyscraper in Dubai features the worlds largest vertical maze

Trust Dubai to come up with something different and innovative each time the city grows. The Al Rostamiani Group now gives the Dubai skyline something else to boast about. A 55 storey tall Maze Tower that has bagged the Guinness Record of being the world’s largest vertical maze. Standing tall just off the Sheikh Zayed Road in the heart of Dubai Financial District this building is sure making heads turn.

The pattern of the maze on the façade of the building are cleverly created balconies for the rooms. The maze is not just a random pattern, but a real puzzle that can be solved! Natural Brazilian Verde Bahia stone is used on the exterior and the dark greenish tinge on the building corner posts is achieved by using a water jet treatment. A lighter colour is used to emphasize the maze and is achieved by using the flame technique.

maze-tower-dubai-2The tower boasts of the Maze Eye which is an 8 metre circular video wall at the top of the building that can beam images. The maze pattern can also be lit up in different colours with the LED lights that are built into the façade of the building which gives it a magical look. The garden floor in the middle of the building and the roof top maze garden are other highlights of this state of the art architectural building.
