Britain’s latest steep priced luxury home

Luxury real estate hasn’t made great waves in Britain so far, but a house in Belgrave Square has currently caught news because it is set to go on the market for a massive 90 million pounds.(US $183 million) after a two-year refurbishment early next year. A Madeira registered company believed to be run by a Lebanese man owns the six-storey home and paid about 6.87 million pounds for a 99year lease in January 2005. The sizeable building has been used for offices in the past, but now being turned into a family home with a basement swimming pool, gym and media room. The home accounts for 12 bedrooms, garage space for four cars and the home measures about 20,000 sq ft.

This particular area has reported to have some moderately high-priced homes, though the one on Belgrave Square goes through the roof. A home of an asking price of 33 million pounds was bought several years ago by Saudi Sheikh Walid Juffali and his wife Christina Estrada. Irina, wife of former Roman Abramovich, is rumored to have checked out on a 35 million pound house there.
