One Bloor by Bazis International – another skyscraper in Toronto

By far the country’s largest and most cosmopolitan city, Toronto is Canada’s commercial capital. Offering a futuristic skyline, urban “life” begins and ends, each day and night under the watch of the city’s tallest skyscrapers and most grand architectural structures. Here’s one more reason to kick back and appreciate the view that they have to offer! Another big condo/hotel comes to Toronto that will be developed by Bazis International from Kazakhstan. More than the high-rise project it’s the developer’s origin that has managed to raise may eyebrows. However, the Toronto Star reports that the building at the corner of Yonge and Bloor will be known as 1 Bloor and the developer has acquired permission to start work on the $450 million projects. The 80-story residential tower will include three floors of retail space followed by a hotel and then condos on top of that, the classic three-layer combo we have seen in buildings around the world. The idea is to mirror the two facets of the city, its buttoned-up side, and its playful side.

Scheduled to be completed by 2011, One Bloor is not the first project of Bazis International in Toronto. They have already created the Crystal Blu condos too.
