Donald Trump’s name is always associated with opulence. The latest to be come from him is the 45 story Trump SoHo Hotel Condominiums in New York. It will render five-star hospitality to its West SoHo neighborhood location. Designed by Handel Architects with interiors by the Rockwell Group, the striking glass building will be the tallest structure in SoHo and offer exceptional 360-degree views of the city and its impressive skyline. Rising 45 stories above the city, Trump SoHo will contain a total of 413 condo hotel units, primarily studio and one-bedroom units, ranging in size from 420 sq. ft. to 800 sq. ft. Prices start at $1,200,000. According to Trump, the suites on the top floors will range in size from 6,000 to 7,000 square feet, which comes up to about $19 million for a single apartment. Whoa!
Meanwhile, one-bedroom units will average 600 square feet and go up to the 800-square-foot range, while entry-level studios are 470 square feet. What more surprising is that as soon as the sales office opened, they had about 2,800 applications for 500 units! With prices ranging from “$2,600 to $2,700 per square foot,” it is setting a benchmark for the area with its high prices. And that’s for hotel-condo apartments that owners can only occupy for a total of 120 days per year. Scheduled to open by 2009, other building amenities will include an exclusive members lounge, world class restaurant, ground level and rooftop bars, library, garden conservatory, business and conference rooms, 6,500 sq ft Cornelia Spa & fitness center, and pool with poolside cabanas.
