The Bentley EXP 12 Speed 6e is a gorgeous all-electric roadster

You might remember back in 2015, Bentley revealed a radical looking EXP 10 Speed 6 concept car at the Geneva Motor Show. The concept sports coupe looked a little like an Aston Martin and had a hybrid drivetrain under the hood. Bentley today revealed an all-electric drop-top sports car dubbed the EXP 12 Speed 6e, which is based on the hybrid concept car from two years back. It has been designed to show how a future EV from Bentley could look. The design and the styling of the EXP 12 Speed 6e concept is similar to the previous EXP 10 concept, featuring a large grille with a 6 inside it and deeply sculpted doors along with a vented bonnet.

The convertible EV features a high-performance electric powertrain with a range of around 310 miles. Despite the electric propulsion, Bentley says its car will perform with the “renowned Bentley characteristics, such as the immediate, effortless surge of torque and grand touring range” for which the brand is known. In terms of design, twin headlights and large alloy wheels mirror the previous concept, but the new model features tiny cameras rather than door mirrors. Inside the cabin, a solid glass center console curves into a display unit on the dashboard. The steering wheel has no top section similar to many, many concepts we have seen in the past. There are two buttons on top – one gives a performance boost, while the other limits the power for use around town. The big question is will the all-electric EXP 12 Speed 6e make the production cut any time soon?
