BMW plans to take on Uber and Lyft

BMW is planning to expand its Drive Now program. Currently operating in San Francisco and in select cities across the Atlantic the car sharing service may soon be offering ride sharing said Peter Schwarzenbauer a BMW board member to Der Spiegel. Peter did not get into the details but a possible scenario for the service would be to incentivize the DriveNow riders to offer shared rides. The DriveNow service is extremely popular in Berlin which has 120,000 members of the 470,000 across the world.

Along with ride sharing the service would be an ideal platform for users to experience and try BMW vehicles especially the ‘i’ range of electric vehicles.
