German auto manufacturer Audi simply can’t stop gushing over the fact that it recently won the Golden Steering Wheel award from Auto Bild, the German magazine. To celebrate its win, the company has taken its flagship R8 V10 Plus and has wrapped it in gold, making the car fit for a king. The car now looks a product of King Midas himself and comes with contrasting gloss black highlights. To complete the look, Audi has thrown in a set of splendid black rims, giving this R8 V10 Plus an aggressive yet regal stance. Under the hood, the car packs a 5.2-liter V10 that churns out 540 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque.
Those who aren’t too comfortable with a vinyl wrap can settle for an Individual paint, priced at €3,100, or for a matte paint job at €7,400. For the R8, which now enters its second generation for the 2017 model year, Audi decided to skip the V8 option completely and offer the more focused and powerful 5.2-liter V10. The car is capable of touching the 60mph mark in about 3.2 seconds, making it a sprint-happy ride. Obviously, this gold-wrapped version is as attention grabbing as it gets and we’re wondering how many rap videos will feature one of these in the near future.
