Fans of legendary racer Barry Sheene and all you motorcycling enthusiasts get ready to be bowled over by Icon Sheene, the world’s most expensive and powerful production motorcycle. Dubbed, the “ultrabike”, this $160,000 bike made its debut at the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed held between July 2 and 4. Like its name suggests, the super bike developed by Andrew Morris pays tribute to the late Grand Prix motorcycle world champion. Five years in the making, this 250 hp turbocharged 1400cc super bike can achieve neck-breaking speeds of 200 mph. A limited edition of just 52 super bikes (symbolic of the biker’s age at the time of his death and also the number of cards in a deck); it is a must-have for every fan of Sheene. Each bike is hand built and will be hand-painted with a different card by Mike Fairholme, the artist who decorated Sheene’s helmets. The ultrabike boasts of hand-laid carbon fiber panels and features etched and engraved plaques and yokes, a hand-painted 1940s style pin-up girl and Alcantara racing seat with Sheene ‘7’ logo.
What is more, each bike will be custom fitted to the customer’s requirements prior to delivery. A beauty, the Icon Sheene is truly a class apart.
