Marian Bantjes designs limited edition Laser sailboat for Wallpaper magazine

Wallpaper magazine must surely be proud of their decision of commissioning Marian Bantjes to design a sailboat. Bantjes who works with custom type, playful typography-based illustrations and ornamentation produced plans for a graphically enhanced Laser class dinghy dubbed, the Laser sailboat. Sure to be a showstopper, the design of the Laser sailboat references the cubist patterns of the First and Second World War ‘dazzle’ naval camouflage. The sailboat is a limited edition creation of just 12 with each bearing a unique number discreetly molded into the hull.

A functional piece of art, the Laser sailboat boasts of a £10,000 ($15,279) price tag.
