McLaren Special Operations launched to add personal touch to MP4-12C


McLaren Automotive has launched the McLaren Special Operations, a client customization division of the new sports car manufacturer responsible for the MP4-12C. The event was held at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance where an example of the car was displayed finished in a version of Volcano Orange. The event marked the company’s journey into encouraging its clients to the first ever pure McLaren sports car. Its features include a gloss black roof, diamond cut finish wheels with gloss black inners, MP4-12C branded carbon sill panels, carbon steering wheel, front wheel arch louvres and carbon fibre engine cover vents, rear deck vent and wiper system cover. The Pebble Lawn had also displayed a second special version of the MP4-12C. It featured paint work by McLaren Racing using AkzoNobel Sikkens chrome coating, designed to minimize friction and have a low drying time requirement.
